This may seem odd, but one of the first things I noticed as I was setting up the PETLIBRO feeder is that the power cord plug, where it plugs into the device), has a recessed region right behind it where you can stick your finger in to push the plug in. And once plugged in, the plug rotates and its cable sits right into the notch. As an engineer, this level of detail tells me that the engineers working on this product have put a lot of thought into the design. Further evidence includes the choice of silicone (or similar material) in the actual feed mechanism so that there is minimal risk of jams or other problems. There will likely be some challenges in longevity, but we're talking lasting a couple years vs. a decade or something like that. If my PETLIBRO feeder lasts even 1 year, I will have gotten more value out of it by many orders of magnitude. For our two cats, we feed them 1/8 cup. I used some trial and error (manually feeding out a portion and adding it to measuring cup) to find that 4 servings is roughly 1/8 cup. There is some expected variation so I might end up increasing the portion to 5 servings, but the great thing is that I can individually control meal portions so of 2 meals in a day, I can up one to 5 portions and leave one at 4 if I worry. Or I can make them both 5, or I can add more meals (up to 4).Another aspect of the design I appreciated - everything is easily clean-able. There are no oddly recessed nooks or crannies and the device comes apart in a reasonable way.In short, if you're looking into automatic feeders for your pet, don't hesitate with this one! Well worth the money!
